Is Just as Important As The “Outside” Look You Buy

Solid Hardwood Frames: No chair or sofa is stronger than its’ “frame”. The frame of a piece of furniture is like the foundation of a home. Without a strong and well constructed frame, your furniture will not last. To assure our frames are of the highest quality………we build our own! The materials we select to serve as building blocks for each design must be of the highest quality. We use only fine solid hardwoods for every piece of furniture we build. Precision machined and fitted joints are double doweled and glued together.
Cornerblocks are fastened with screws, not stapled together as in lower quality furniture. Where design permits, rails, legs and cornerblocks are formed in an interlocked assembly to reinforce key frame joints, which is as indestructible as we know how to make it!

Webbing Base: The “durability” of our upholstery begins with a sturdy base combining durable woven webbing supported by steel bands anchored to the frame with heavy one and one-fourth inch nails. Noise-proof, rust-proof, its complaint-free performance has been proven with many years of use by respected names in the furniture industry.

Eight Way Hand Tied Coil Spring Construction: Our experienced craftsmen carefully position long lasting tempered steel springs individually over the sturdy durable woven webbing and meticulously HAND TIE EACH SPRING EIGHT WAYS to prevent shifting that can alter the shape or affect comfort. Every style has been carefully engineered with the correct combination of spring gauge and height to achieve the utmost comfort and years of durability. Smaller items and/or those not adaptable to this type of construction such as benches and ottomans are built with a patented “sagless” spring system..

Hand Rubbed Wood Finishes: Our 5 step process applied carefully by hand provides a beautiful and lasting wood finish. Your choice of our wood finishes is available on most every item. Some wood finishes available are: Mahogany, Cherry, Walnut, Fruitwood Distressed, Nutmeg, Black, Natural, and Antique White. Skirted items are standard in mahogany finish.

Standard and Optional Cushion Construction: Our “Standard” Cushion consists of the finest grade of 1.8 polyurethane foam. This foam core is then surrounded by a thick layer of buoyant fiberfill and is enclosed in a complete muslin “envelope”. Our standard cushioning offers both comfort and durability. We also offer 3 OPTIONAL Cushion Constructions available for an additional charge. The options are as follows: OPTION #1: DOWN/FEATHER BLEND, OPTION #2: DOWN/FEATHER BLEND WITH COIL SPRING AND POLY, and available on seats only is OPTION #3: COIL SPRING “Seat” CUSHION.

Cutting, Sewing, and Upholstery: Fabrics and leather are HAND-CUT and sewn one piece at a time, while every detail is given careful attention. Meticulous matching of patterns and lining of stripes are apparent in every piece of furniture we build. Skirts are fully lined and we offer several styles from which to choose. Arm protectors are included on most items. Our expert upholsterers generously build up the inside surfaces of arms and backs with layers of polyurethane foam and polyester fiberfill, and then top with cotton for deep, built-in comfort! Each department works together combining skill and understanding to create furniture of elegance, quality and value.
